HealthChoice Medicare Supplement Plans with Part D
Medicare Coverage Gap Discount Program

Part D plan members who do not receive Extra Help and reach total drug costs of $2,970 are provided discounts on certain Part D drugs purchased at Network Pharmacies. Prescription drug manufacturers provide discounts on brand-name drugs, and HealthChoice provides discounts on generics drugs.

The amounts discounted by brand-name manufacturers apply to your pharmacy out-of-pocket maximum; however, amounts discounted by HealthChoice do not. Discounts are automatically applied at your pharmacy when you reach $2,970 in drug costs.

  • Low Option Plans with Part D: After your total drug costs reach $2,970 ($325 deductible plus $2,610 in additional drug costs), brand-name drug manufacturers provide a 52.5% discount* toward the cost of covered brand-name medications, and HealthChoice pays 21% toward the cost of generic drugs.
  • High Option Plans with Part D: After your total drug costs reach $2,970, brand-name manufacturers provide a 50% discount* toward your copay amounts for covered brand-name medications.

*The brand-name discount is available only for brand-name drugs whose manufacturers have agreed to pay it. If a brand-name manufacturer has not agreed to pay the discount, medications made by that manufacturer are not covered.
