Advisory Council

The Advisory Council was created by legislation in 1990. Appointees represent the individual constituency groups of the Oklahoma State and Education Employees Group Insurance Board. Its primary mission is to be a sounding board for ideas, criticism, long-range planning, and improved communications. The quarterly Advisory Council meetings are held in the Gene C. Howard Board Room on the 5th floor of the Insurance Board's offices. Quarterly meetings are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Quarterly agendas are posted in accordance with the requirements of the Open Meetings Act.

• Norman Cooper, Secretary, Oklahoma City, represents retired educators
• Scott Barger, Member, Oklahoma City, represents active state employees
• Virginia Lawrenz, Oklahoma City, represents retired state employees
• Dave Herbert, Midwest City, represents county employees
