I’m Janet Barresi, Superintendent of Public Instruction for Oklahoma.

I had the privilege this week of speaking with teachers and administrators from across the state when 71 Oklahoma schools were honored in the Great Expectations Winter meeting.

I’m Janet Barresi, Oklahoma’s state superintendent of public instruction.

This week I’d like to talk to you about ACE … which stands for Achieving Classroom Excellence.

There are some troubling moves on the horizon to try to water down or delay ACE and I want to share with you why that should not happen, and why all Oklahomans should be concerned.

Last week I officially launched the 3R agenda to rethink, restructure and reform our state’s  system of education. This week, I wanted to spend a little more time talking about the first ‘R’ in the agenda, to rethink our entire approach to education in the 21st century.
