Superintendent Welcomes Students to Technology Day @ the Capitol

State Superintendent Janet Barresi will welcome students from across the state to the Superintendent’s Technology Day @ the Capitol on Monday, May 7, 2012.

The annual event allows students to showcase what they are doing with technologies in the classroom. Projects range from 1:1 programs, where every child is equipped with a laptop; to robotics; to high-end multimedia projects. This year marks the 11th anniversary of Superintendent’s Day @ the Capitol.

“I’m excited to see the many ways students are using technology to learn, do homework or develop classroom projects,” Barresi said. “Technology is truly transforming education in helping students develop critical thinking skills and preparing them for the demands of the 21st Century.”

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Fourth Floor Rotunda.

Participating schools are Cordell, Catoosa, Grand View, Guthrie, Howe, Norman, Putnam City, Union and the University of Oklahoma’s K20 Center. All schools that applied to participate this year were selected.
