Office of Instruction

The Office of Instruction is committed to providing professional development, skills, and resources to education leaders, administrators, educators, parents, students, and communities so Oklahoma students will:

  • be provided a rich, rigorous, purposeful, motivating, and differentiated learning environment with opportunities to gain the knowledge and skills necessary  to be college, career, and citizen ready
  • receive learning opportunities that  allow them to be able to successfully apply knowledge and skills in life situations
  • be creative thinkers who are able to skillfully listen, reflect, and convey their own thoughts in a meaningful dialogue
  • be prepared to actively problem solve with creative multiple solutions

The Office of Standards and Curriculum is available to provide professional development to teachers in their local area, either face-to-face or through videoconference or webinar (point-to-point/distance learning) technology. In order for the professional development to have as much impact as possible, for face-to-face interactions, groups need to include representation from at at least 5 districts, an entire county, or that contain at least 45 teachers. For point-to-point/distance learning technology interactions any size group can be accommodated.
