Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Sweeps Northeast Oklahoma, Several Men Arrested

Tuesday (2/12/2013), members of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force were in northeast Oklahoma investigating crimes pertaining to the exploitation of children. Child pornography was distributed to task force members from the Stillwater and Guthrie Police Departments on at least nine occasions from seven separate computers. The cases were assigned to other members of the task force for additional investigation. This sweep put several suspected child predators behind bars.

Two teams of investigators and task force members served numerous warrants. Tuesday morning, a task force member from the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office arrested Adolphius J. Webster (dob: 10/20/1981) at his home, 11328 North 112th East Avenue, Owasso, Oklahoma. Task force members from the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, Edmond Police Department, Guthrie Police Department, and the OSBI ICAC Unit, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Owasso Police Department, served a search warrant at the location. Several computer-related items were seized after they were forensically previewed at the scene. The computer equipment will be sent to the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit for further analysis. Webster was booked into the Tulsa County Jail and is held on complaints of Distribution of Child Pornography and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

A few hours later, that same team with the assistance of the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 17252 East 79th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma. Several computer-related items were seized from the scene. The next day, an agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested the resident of that address, James E. Johnson (dob: 02/13/1959), at his home. Johnson was booked into the Rogers County Jail and is held on complaints of Distribution of Child Pornography and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Also that morning, a task force member from the Stillwater Police Department arrested Michael K. Gomez (dob: 06/03/1971) at his residence, 11953 South 270th East Avenue, Coweta, Oklahoma. A second team of task force members from the Stillwater Police Department, Edmond Police Department, OSBI ICAC and Computer Crimes Units, with the assistance of an agent with Homeland Security Investigations and the Coweta Police Department, served a search warrant at the residence. Several computer-related items were seized from the scene. Gomez was arrested for Distribution of Child Pornography and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. He was booked into the Wagoner County Jail.

Later that day, the same team arrested Stephen A. Hacker (dob: 06/02/1947) at his residence, 1614 West 4th Avenue, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and served a search warrant at that location. Several computer-related items were seized at Hacker’s home. Hacker was booked into the Wagoner County Jail on complaints of Distribution of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

In addition, task force members from the Tulsa Police Department, with assistance from other units within the department, served three search warrants inside the Tulsa city limits. In each case, several computer-related items were seized. Those cases are still under investigation to determine if criminal charges will be filed or not.
