OSBI Agents Help Identify and Arrest Cordell Man for Terrorist Threats Against School

An OSBI agent along with Washita County deputies arrested a 21-year-old Cordell man for making threats to “shoot up the school” in Cordell. Those threats were made on a chat board via the Internet earlier in the week. The Washita County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI help investigate the threats Friday morning. Friday evening, agents had identified the suspect as Christopher Thomason (d.o.b. 7-13-1991) of Cordell. Investigators located him working at a well site three miles north of mile marker 108 on Interstate 40 and made the arrest at approximately 8:40 p.m. Thomason was booked in to the Washita County jail on two counts of Terrorism Hoax and one count of Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act -- all felony complaints. While agents and deputies were arresting Thomason, other OSBI agents and Cordell police officers were serving a search warrant at this home, 401 S. Orient St, lot #4 in Cordell.

Thomason once attended high school in Cordell.
