OSBI Helps Investigate Stabbing in Haskell County
OSBI agents are investigating a stabbing that took place in Keota, Haskell County, early this morning. The LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call about a woman who needed medical assistance in Panama. An ambulance responded to the call and took the female victim to a softball park in Panama where a medical helicopter transported her to a Tulsa hospital. Tara Parks (d.o.b. 1-22-1980) of Spiro was stabbed multiple times outside a home at 106 Broadway in Keota about 4 o’clock this morning. Her boyfriend was attempting to transport her to a hospital in LeFlore County but stopped in Panama for help before making it to the hospital.
The stabbing occurred when Parks and her boyfriend went to his former girlfriend’s home (106 Broadway, Keota) to retrieve his clothing. A physical altercation ensued between Parks and the former girlfriend.
OSBI agents and other local law enforcement personnel are in the process of interviewing those involved, neighbors, and others who may have information about this case.
At this time, agents have not arrested anyone for the stabbing. However, Kendall McCormick (d.o.b. 5-29-1976), the victim’s boyfriend, was arrested on an unrelated warrant. He was booked in to the LeFlore County Jail.
