Officers Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting Death in Okmulgee County

The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office has requested OSBI agents investigate a police-involved shooting death. This morning deputies responded to a call of a suicidal individual at 17401 Bristlecone Road in rural Okmulgee County. When deputies arrived at the location, Robbie McMurtry (no date of birth available at this time) approached them in a threatening manner with a machete outside the home. McMurtry lived at this location. One deputy shot and killed the subject. The deputies were not injured.

OSBI agents will submit a report to the district attorney who will decide whether the shooting was justified.
