OSBI Offers Reward in Cold Case

Fifteen years ago today, 19-year-old Tiffany Johnston was abducted from the Sunshine Car Wash at 7709 N. W. 23rd in Bethany. Her vehicle was found abandoned at the car wash. Her body was found the next day (7/27/97) on Gregory Road in Canadian County two-tenths of a mile south of Interstate 40. July 28th, the Bethany Police Department requested OSBI assist with the homicide investigation. The medical examiner’s office ruled the Bethany resident died of strangulation.

OSBI agents and Bethany detectives have conducted numerous interviews concerning the disappearance and murder of Johnston. In late 2005, the case became inactive with no more leads to follow. Last year, the agent assigned the case retired. Johnston’s case has now been reassigned. That agent is currently pouring through case files and has requested a reward be offered to focus attention on the murder and, perhaps, create new leads. This is the second time a reward has been offered.

The OSBI is now offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Tiffany Johnston’s murder. If you have any information helpful in this case, please call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017.
