Agents Assist Cherokee County with Homicide Case

Thursday afternoon (6/14), the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office requested help from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation regarding a homicide case. A woman claimed she killed a man and buried his body in a rural area near Hulbert. Agents and deputies obtained a search warrant for the area where the woman claimed a body was buried. Investigators did find a badly decomposed body near West County Road 691 and Lost City Road. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death and the identity of the remains. In the meantime, Misty Richardson was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on a complaint of first degree murder.
