Agents Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting in Cherokee County

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred about 1 o’clock Thursday morning. A deputy responded to a noise complaint at West 790 Road in Hulbert at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday. When the deputy arrived to that location, someone from inside the residence shot at the deputy. That deputy returned fire killing the shooter. The deceased has been identified as Richard Charles Ogg. The 56-year-old man lived at that location.

OSBI will present findings in this case to the district attorney in that area. The district attorney will determine whether the shooting was justified.
