Agents and Criminalists Help Investigate Guthrie Homicide

Saturday afternoon Guthrie Police requested OSBI assistance with a suspicious death at 1223 E. Vilas. That evening, the medical examiner’s office determined the death was the result of a homicide. OSBI agents and criminalists processed Francis Maurice Byrd’s home until early Sunday morning.

Out of state family members of the 60-year-old man called the Guthrie Police Department Saturday requesting a welfare check of Maurice Byrd since Byrd had not attended a family meeting.
