Stilwell Man Arrested for Homicide

Agents arrest a suspect for the murder of a Stilwell man. September 26th, firefighters were called to 215 West Elm Street, Stilwell, on a house fire. Once inside, emergency crews found a body. The medical examiner’s office identified the victim as David Davenport (d.o.b. 10/9/1969). He died of multiple stab wounds. Today, agents arrested Lonnie George Wheeler (d.o.b. 6/20/1961) on a warrant for first degree murder and first degree arson. Wheeler was booked in to the Adair County Jail. Wheeler was living at the home where the murder took place. Several people were drinking at the home the afternoon of the homicide. Later that evening a physical altercation took place leaving Davenport dead.
