Body of Man Found Near Lake Texoma Identified

The body of a man found September 25, 2011, near Lake Texoma in Marshall County has been identified. Two people walking along the banks of Lake Texoma that morning found the remains of 65-year-old Thomas Tompkins. Agents have tried to find next of kin without success. Tompkins was living out of his car at the time of his death. In recent months, he had lived in Gainesville, Texas, and Marietta, Oklahoma. In the past few years, Tompkins also lived in Kansas and Missouri.

The medical examiner has not determined Tompkins' cause or manner of death at this point.
