Agents Investigate Skeletal Remains in McCurtain County

The OSBI is investigating skeletal remains found earlier this week in McCurtain County near the Harris community. The remains were found Monday (9/19/11) at the edge of a corn field south of Harris near the Red River. The remains are possibly a black male between 30 and 40 years of age. Preliminary forensic analysis indicates a possible date of death to be 4-to-6 months ago. The remains also show signs of arthritis.

Items found in the area include Aramark jeans size 36” x 32” and one Reebok ERS 1000 tennis shoe.
