Crescent Man Arrested For Soliciting Sex with Child

Wednesday morning, Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force members arrested a Crescent man for Soliciting Sexual Conduct with a Minor with the Use of Technology, Lewd or Indecent Proposals/Acts to a Child, and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes At. The investigation was initiated July 28th by Edmond Police Task Force members when Floyd Wayne Jacks (d.o.b. 8/12/53) contacted an undercover officer on a Yahoo chat line. The chats transferred to text messages via a cell phone and remained of a sexual nature. Jacks set a meeting at a grocery store in Edmond and traveled from his home in Crescent to meet who he believed was a minor child for sex. Wednesday at approximately 10:15 in the morning Jacks was met by Edmond Police officers who placed him under arrest. A search warrant was served at Jacks' Crescent home at 216 South Spruce where several computer items were seized. Jacks was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. Guthrie Police task force members, Edmond Police, and Crescent police assisted in the investigation.

The Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is part of a national task force partially funded by a federal grant to combat technology-facilitated crimes against children. The task force and grant is managed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation with grant money being used to train and equip investigators to conduct reactive and proactive investigations.
