Agents Investigate Police Involved Shooting on Bank Robbery Suspects
Thursday afternoon (6/16), Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers and Pushmataha County Sheriff's Deputies were involved in a pursuit of individuals who had just robbed a bank in Wright City. The pursuit ended on Highway 3 approximately 5 miles west of Antlers where shots were fired. One suspect died at the scene. Another suspect in the vehicle died en route to a hospital. A third suspect was apprehended.
The District Attorney’s Office in Pushmataha requested the OSBI investigate the police involved shooting. The FBI is investigating the bank robbery.
Jeremy Dysart (d.o.b. March 25, 1077), of North Richland Hills, Texas, died at the scene. Justin Whisenhunt (d.o.b. April 1980) died en route to the hospital. Whisenhunt was released recently from the Tarrant County, Texas, Jail where he spent time for theft.
Rachael Marie Spear (d.o.b. June 22, 1976), of Euless, Texas, was arrested on a complaint of bank robbery and booked into the Pushmataha County Jail. Charges are pending.
The three were riding in a Dodge pickup truck stolen from the North Texas area earlier this week.
Based on information provided by the OSBI, the District Attorney will determine if the shooting by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper and a Pushmataha County Deputy was justified.
