Sallisaw Officer Shot Update

Once OSBI Agents were able to open their investigation into a Sallisaw Officer who was shot Monday afternoon while driving along Highway 64 in Sallisaw while off duty, agents determined Wendel Hughes shot himself accidentally and then told Sallisaw officers Mark Sweeney had pulled the trigger.  Sallisaw officers arrested Sweeney for the shooting. The Sallisaw Police Department has released Sweeney from custody.
