OSBI Investigates Seminole Murder and Jail Escape
The Seminole Police Chief requested OSBI assistance in a homicide that happened Tuesday evening at about 9 o’clock in the 500 block of W. College. Alvin Walker, 50, had been shot to death. His body was found in the middle of the street by a person driving in the area.
At about 6:30 Wednesday morning, after conducting interviews and collecting evidence throughout the night, agents and police officers arrested 18-year-old Christian James Farris of Seminole. Farris was booked into the city jail. At about 8:30 a.m., Farris ran out a door of the jail escaping the lockup.
A manhunt ensued involving law enforcement from across the eastern region of the state as well as Oklahoma Highway Patrol which put several aircraft over the area and brought in horses and tracking dogs. Before those horses and dogs could be turned loose just after noon, a Good Samaritan spotted Farris walking in the area near the Wall’s Department Store near Broadway Street. Farris was still wearing the orange pants issued him by the jail. The Good Samaritan gave chase until Farris tripped and fell. Thomas Frumson held down Farris until deputies arrived.
Farris was taken back to the city jail where he will face more charges.
