|| Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
Public Information Director
12/07/10 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Non-Commissioned Employee of the Year
This coveted award went to Aaron Gray who works in the Information Services Division’s Field Services Unit. Gray was instrumental in the bureau’s Statewide Incident Based Reporting System (SIBRS) certification by the FBI by performing time-consuming system tests to identify missing mandatory FBI validation sets. This six-month-long project reduced OSBI’s error submission rate to less than four percent.
His close attention to detail when reviewing data for errors helped solve several crimes across the state. For example, he recalled a police report submitted to SIBRS where a gun was stolen from Frederick. That same gun was recovered by another jurisdiction in the state. Gray reported the finding to Frederick police.
A self motivator, Gray taught himself the finer points to XML language used for data transfer and assisted his supervisor in developing a systematic approach for auditing and certifying law enforcement agency’s records management systems.
OSBI recognizes Aaron Gray’s dedication to his job and to the citizens of this state.
