OSBI Continues to Work Three Year Old El Reno Murder Case
James “Jim” Shaw, 73, was stabbed multiple times inside the living room of his home between 2:30 pm – 4 pm May 21, 2007. Mrs. Shaw returned home about 4 pm to find her husband of 48 years dead. El Reno Police requested OSBI assistance with the case.
Since OSBI opened the case, agents have worked nearly 80 leads from conducting interviews to testing forensic evidence. Currently, OSBI is using relatively new forensic techniques to pinpoint a suspect.
Investigators believe robbery was likely the motive for the home invasion and murder. Cash was stolen from Shaw’s wallet. According to an autopsy, Shaw did not fight with the suspect since there are no defense wounds.
The OSBI is offering up to a $10,000 reward on information leading to the arrest and conviction in this case. If anyone has any information, please contact the OSBI at 1-800-522-8017.
