Hunter Killed in Latimer County

The Latimer County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI’s help in an investigation where a hunter was shot and killed Saturday evening.

John A. Morgan, 44, was shot and killed while deer hunting about 6pm in the Gowen Mountain area.  Morgan is from Latimer County near Hartshorne.

Officials have identified but have not arrested the individual who fired the fatal shot. The district attorney’s office will decide if any charges will be filed once the medical examiner’s report and other investigative materials are collected and presented to that office.
