OSBI Helps Investigate Mooreland Murder

The Woodward County District Attorney’s Office requested OSBI assistance in a murder investigation over the weekend. Saturday morning, Antonio Velasquez (dob 5-6-84) left his job at a hog farm just outside Mooreland to collect money from another man who also worked at the hog farm. He went to the home of brothers Julio Juarez Ramos (dob 5-29-86) and Isidio Juarez Ramos (dob 5-22-79) at 301 N.E. 6th in Mooreland where Velasquez was strangled to death.

The brothers then dumped Velasquez’ body near an oil lease southeast of Mooreland. The Ramos’ then took the victim’s car, a 1995 Ford Mustang. Officials put out a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) message to area law enforcement. Enid police spotted the car and the two brothers Saturday evening and arrested the pair.

The brothers eventually led law enforcement to the victim’s body Sunday. The two were booked into the Woodward County Jail on murder complaints. The brothers are illegal immigrants from Guatemala.
