Scenic Turnout Robbery Suspects Apprehended
Steven Scott Redmond, 48, and Mary Smith, 43, are behind bars in Texas. The U.S. Marshall’s Service arrested Redmond in Del Rio, Texas, this morning at approximately 11 o’clock. Smith turned herself in to authorities Wednesday evening in Montgomery County, Texas.
The two are wanted on warrants from Murray County relating to a robbery and shooting of Kevin Grimes August 27th at the scenic turnout exit on Interstate 35. The couple was spotted in Oklahoma City September 4th at a gas station.
The two left Oklahoma and drove to Montgomery County to stay with a mutual friend. That friend found out the two were wanted on felony warrants and told the couple she would turn them in if they did not. Redmond stole a motorcycle and told Smith he was headed to Mexico. Smith turned herself in to deputies. For the past several weeks, OSBI has been tracking the two who where traveling back and forth from Oklahoma to Texas.
