Ponca City Murder Suspect Charged

January 3, 2008, Steven DeWayne Gammon, 55, was found dead outside Webb’s Bar.  The medical examiner quickly determined Gammon died of blunt force trauma to the head.  The Kay County Sheriff’s Department requested OSBI assistance in this murder investigation.

Early in the case, OSBI identified Tina Louise Hall, 43, as a person of interest.   During one of many interviews, Hall admitted to knowing the victim and to being at the bar the night of the attack (January 2nd).  In a later interview conducted by OSBI agents, Hall confessed that after other patrons left the bar, she hit Gammon in the head with a ball bat that was kept at the bar.  She then fled with some of Gammon’s personal property and with the moneybag from the bar.

March 13th, the Kay County District Attorney charged the Jenks resident with Gammon’s murder.  Hall is also charged with an unrelated armed robbery in Pawnee County, which is where she is currently behind bars.
