The Le Flore County Sheriff’s Office has requested OSBI assistance in solving a murder that happened over the weekend.  Jeffrey Tackett (dob 5/23/79) was shot and mortally wounded at approximately 3 a.m. January 5^th inside the suspect’s home.

Investigators believe Robert Lynn Owens (dob 10/1/77) shot Tackett multiple times after the two argued inside Owens’ home just west of Spiro.  Tackett was at Owens’ home with a friend.   After the shooting, that man placed Tackett inside his vehicle and attempted to drive him to a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital. Tackett died on the way.

A murder warrant has been issued for Owens.  He is a white male, 5’6” tall and 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  He is possibly armed with a handgun.
