Authorities Arrest Guthrie Man for Computer Crimes
The Guthrie Police Department requested OSBI’s help with a case involving a man making indecent proposals to a 15- year- old girl. After several months of investigation, OSBI agents and Guthrie Police arrested Robert Lee Hairell (dob 5/23/69) on four counts.
The investigation started when a person posing as a 14-year-old girl sent police a copy of an Internet chat log between her and the suspect. Guthrie Police asked for help from the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. During the investigation, agents discovered the 14-year-old victim. Approximately a year ago, the suspect asked the victim to take off her clothes, and then showed her several pornographic photographs on his cell phone. A forensic examination of his phone revealed the pictures.
The suspect was arrested inside his Guthrie home late Thursday and booked into the Logan County Jail. Today, he went before a judge for arraignment where the judge increased his bond from $64,000 to $100,000.
