OSBI Investigates Clinton Homicide

Sunday morning, July 23rd, Clinton Police requested OSBI assistance in a murder case.  Just after 3 a.m. police received a call of a gunshot victim in the 500 block of Glennsmith Avenue in Clinton.   The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.  A medical examiner’s autopsy will determine exact cause of death.

OSBI agents and Clinton police conducted several interviews at the crime scene and determined the victim, Hubert Lynn Edwards (8-24-84) of Altus, and Latray Lamont Collins (3-29-86) of Clinton got into an argument.  Collins struck the victim.  Edwards ran from the area, but Collins followed and fired a gun at Edwards.  A bullet struck the victim in the head.

Police arrested Collins for first-degree murder.
