Crescent Police Chief Faces Rape Charge
The Logan County District Attorney’s office called in OSBI agents to investigate allegations of official misconduct involving Cresent Police Chief James Leonard Bell in December 2005.
After a month long investigation, OSBI filed an arrest warrant Monday on Bell for one count of second-degree rape of a teenage girl.
The 38-year-old turned himself into the Logan County Courthouse this afternoon on that one count. His bond is set at $5,000.
The OSBI investigation into the official misconduct continues.
Bell resigned his position with the city Saturday.
