Internet Crimes Against Children

ICAC web logo

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation maintains a unit of personnel specially trained to investigate Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). The ICAC unit investigates the exploitation of children by the use of technology. Agents also conduct undercover operations and respond to ICAC related complaints. They do this by utilizing specially trained agents and computer equipment. The OSBI is the lead agency of the Oklahoma ICAC Task Force, which is part of the National ICAC Task Force. OSBI manages a grant approved by the U.S. Department of Justice for use by Task Force affiliate agencies throughout the State who actively investigate and prosecute these cases. Oklahoma currently has 44 affiliate partner agencies throughout the State who are Oklahoma ICAC Task Force members. These agencies consist of District Attorney's Offices, Sheriff's Departments, and municipal Police Departments. With the diligence and hard work of these agencies and the OSBI, the numbers of investigations throughout the State have more than doubled over the past year.
