The OSBI Forensic Science Center is a state-of-the-art laboratory, training, and office facility that provides forensic services in the disciplines of drug identification, latent prints, shoe and tire impressions, forensic biology (serology / DNA), toxicology, trace evidence, firearms and tool marks, and crime scene investigation. This ASCLD / LAB accredited laboratory provides discovery and detection of criminal activity to all law enforcement agencies in the State of Oklahoma.
This facility is unique with its expanded partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma, which is located adjacent to the new Forensic Science Center. With the incorporation of a Forensic Science Institute in the new facility, the classrooms and training laboratories will enhance the University's Forensic Science Master's Program by providing exemplary, hands-on training for the forensic science leaders of the future. |

Firearms Identification is a discipline of forensic science which has as its primary concern to determine if a bullet, cartridge case or other ammunition component was fired by a particular firearm.

| The new OSBI Forensic Science Center opened March 2008. This is an exciting event for the entire Oklahoma Forensic Science Community. The all new OSBI Forensic Science Center is a state of the art facility. This facility will allow for future growth, both in personnel and technology. As we get settled in and within the next few months, we will add pictures showing inside the new facility. |

- The Forensic Biology Unit includes the sub-disciplines of Serology and DNA analysis.
- Serology is the identification of body fluids including blood and other biological materials.
- Current DNA analysis is accomplished using the Polymerase Chain Reaction in combination with Short Tandem Repeats.
- The Forensic Biology Unit mainly works sexual assaults, burglaries, and homicides.

Toxicology |
| The OSBI Latent Evidence Unit is a section of the OSBI Criminalistics Division that specializes in latent print, footwear, and tire impression examination. The duties of a latent print examiner include crime scene processing, laboratory processing of evidence, collecting inked impressions of deceased individuals, and comparing unknown impressions to known impressions in order to effect identifications. Some of the tools utilized in accomplishing these tasks include the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), Digital Imaging equipment, and various chemical and physical development techniques. |

The objective of the Toxicology Laboratory is to provide forensic toxicology services to State, County, and Local law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma where laboratory services are not available. Toxicology services are provided for agencies submitting blood samples in cases involving violations of Title 47 of the Oklahoma State Statute.

Training |
| The OSBI Trace Evidence Unit analyzes several types of evidence including FIBERS, PAINT, GUNSHOT RESIDUE, IGNITABLE LIQUIDS, and several others. A Trace Evidence Analyst spends years training in these specified fields. Each sub-discipline takes dedication and hundreds of hours in training in order to become proficient.

Stink Room |
- CODIS stands for Combined DNA Index System.
- Combination of DNA profiling and computer data basing to help solve crimes.
- Enables local, state and federal crime labs to exchange and compare DNA profiles by electronic means, which allows convicted offenders to be linked to crimes or for crimes to be linked to each other.
- OSBI is charged with implementing and maintaining CODIS for the state of Oklahoma.

This small room has its own ventilation system and is used to store crime scene evidence that may be unsuitable for conventional storage within the lab.
