VENDING MACHINE TECHNICIAN, #K30

BASIC PURPOSE:

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to providing assistance to blind persons in becoming self-supporting, useful members of society by helping them in business-related practices. Provides repair services and training in the use of automated merchandising equipment.

This job family consists of only one level and incumbent employees are responsible for performing all functions related to the position to which assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical and electronic automated vending systems; of subassemblies such as coin machines and bill acceptors; and of small business management. Ability is required to trouble shoot and evaluate vending machines; to establishing and maintain effective working relationships with others; to advise operators on equipment usage; and to write reports.

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of three years of experience in vending machine or small appliance maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one month of technical training in the repair of vending machines and small appliances for each month of the required experience.
