STRUCTURED INTERVIEW PROCESS - 0.6 CEU
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
Hiring the right person the right way, is critical in state government. The Office of Personnel Management released a manual in 2001 entitled, Developing and Administering Structured Interviews, providing instructions to enhance the quality of information gathered from employment interviews while strengthening the legal defensibility of the interviewing phase of the selection process. This course teaches the concepts and techniques in that manual.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
HR professionals, managers, supervisors, and individuals involved in the interview process for selecting new employees or promoting permanent employees.
OBJECTIVES:

- Describe the components of a structured interview.
- Explain why some questions are inappropriate or may indicate illegal discrimination.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
This course focuses on viewing organizational processes as systems, then learning to manage those systems. The course content is based on the writings of Dr. Peter Senge, Harvard University. Topics include the five disciplines identified as essential for any learning organization, the two types of loop diagrams, five course archetypes, and how to apply these models to "real-life" situations in Oklahoma state agencies.
