LAND SURVEYOR MANAGER, #S17
BASIC PURPOSE: Positions in this job family are responsible for performing administrative and managerial professional land surveying work.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS: The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following:
LEVEL DESCRIPTORS: The Land Surveyor Manager job family has three levels which are distinguished by the level of managerial responsibility assigned within the division.
Level I: Code: S17A Salary Band: O At this level incumbents perform supervisory and professional land surveying work as a branch manager in a survey division. They will plan and schedule the work to be done, perform various managerial tasks and provide direct supervision to professional and/or technical staff, multiple crews, multiple projects and required survey support personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of surveying and engineering practices and principles; of administrative and managerial practices and principles; of the principles of effective supervision and of the effects of engineering projects on the economy and environment. Ability is required to establish and maintain professional working relationships with others; to interact effectively with the public; and to interpret research data and scientific geodetic data.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of registration as a Land Surveyor with the Oklahoma State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and four years of land surveying experience subsequent to registration.
Level II: Code: S17B Salary Band: P At this level incumbents perform managerial and professional land surveying and/or photogrammetric work as assistant to the division director. Incumbents in this position will assume responsibility of the division in the absence of the division director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include those identified in Level I plus ability is required to develop, plan and control a budget.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of registration as a Land Surveyor with the Oklahoma State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and two years of professional surveying experience in a supervisory capacity subsequent to registration
Level III: Code: S17C Salary Band: Q At this level incumbents will serve as a division director responsible for performing advanced managerial and professional surveying work in the organization and direction of all operations in a division.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include those identified in Level II plus ability is required to direct management personnel.
