STAFF ASSISTANT (DOC), I14
BASIC PURPOSE: Positions within this job family are assigned responsibilities which involve assisting in planning, monitoring and coordinating the activities of a major division within the Department of Corrections. Employees will report directly to a Deputy Director, Inspector General or Medical Director of one of the following divisions: Administrative Services, Community Corrections, Health Services, Institutions, Probation and Parole, Security and Internal Affairs or Programs and Services.

Level I: Code: I14A Salary Band: L The Staff Assistant (DOC) job family consists of only one level and incumbents are responsible for performing all functions related to the position to which assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required include knowledge of agency policy and procedures; of state and federal regulations relevant to agency programs; of personnel and fiscal management; of public administration; and of public relations. Ability is required to collect, analyze and interpret statistical data, financial records and other related information; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to handle confidential work with tact and discretion; to interpret and handle decisions in accordance with agency policy; and to follow oral and written instructions.
Education and Experience requirements consist of a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, a social science or a closely related field and three years of professional experience in one of the above fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
