In 1994, the Oklahoma Legislature created the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Advisory Council to advise the Administrator of the Oklahoma Office of Personnel Management and State Employee Assistance Program staff on policy issues, and provide support to expand and improve EAP services available to state employees and their families.

The Employee Assistance Program Advisory Council is composed of nine members:  three appointed by the Governor, three appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma Senate, and three appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
