Established in 1933, SAG has a rich history in the American labor movement. With 20 branches nationwide, SAG is the nation's largest labor union representing working actors with nearly 120,000 members in film, television, industrials, commercials, video games, music videos, and other new media. The Guild exists to enhance actors' working conditions, compensation and benefits and to be a powerful, unified voice on behalf of artists' rights. |

Established in 1972 to address the underrepresentation and misrepresentation of women in the media industry, Women Make Movies is a multicultural, multiracial, non-profit media arts organization which facilitates the production, promotion, distribution, and exhibition of independent films and videotapes by and about women. The organization provides both users and makers of film and video programs, with special emphasis on supporting work by women of color. |
