Oklahoma has 85,000 farms and ranches. The number of farms fluctuates between 80,000 and 84,000. The average size of an Oklahoma farm is 400 acres, though some are 5,000 or more. About 73 percent of the state’s 45 million acres of land is used for farming or ranching.
