Blue Thumb training sessions for new volunteers take place in various locations throughout Oklahoma. They are frequently held on a Friday and Saturday, or in many cases on Saturday and Sunday. Training sessions introduce participants to stream ecology, with the presenters covering pollutants, watersheds, water chemistry, monitoring, field collections, stewardship, environmental education, volunteer responsibilities, and many additional topics. Participants who complete the training sessions have the option of receiving a Blue Thumb test kit and working with us to monitor a stream and educate local people about the stream.
