Blue Thumb Calendar of Events
It is the nature of Oklahoma's Blue Thumb Program to be with people in the field! Of course by "in the field" we often mean in the creek! For details about when we are working in specific areas of the state, call the Blue Thumb Coordinator at 918.398.1804.
Blue Thumb Training Sessions for 2007
Blue Thumb training sessions take place in various locations throughout Oklahoma. They are frequently held on a Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday, or in many cases on two consecutive days. Training sessions introduce participants to stream ecology, with the presenters covering pollutants, watersheds, water chemistry, monitoring, field collections, stewardship, environmental education, volunteer responsibilities, and many additional topics. Participants who complete the training sessions have the option of receiving a Blue Thumb test kit and working with us to monitor a stream and to educate local people about stream protection.
It is anticipated that more training sessions will be added to this list in the near future, but for now, Blue Thumb training sessions offered in 2007 include:
September 19 & 20 Tulsa County
