Patrick Bowen Dalton Dorsey
In the summer of 2006 in Caddo County, two separate accidents occurred within the same month involving kids and guns without adult supervision. These accidents were preventable. Both victims were educated about gun safety and handling. Their friends were not. The purpose of this project is to re-educate ourselves as parents, teach our kids about gun safety and to store guns safely in the home with gunlocks..

Earlier this year the Office of Juvenile Affairs produced a video about gun safety based on two cases in 2006 out of rural Oklahoma.  The fathers of the victims joined this effort and spoke about their sons dreams and goals.

With the latest incidents in the news, we at OJA felt compelled to create a Public Service Announcement and reach out in a new way to the public about the importance of gun locks.  We are proud to partner with Chief Bill Citty,  the Oklahoma Police Department, Sheriff John Whetzel and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office in bringing this message.

The tragic events only remind us the important of storing guns safely in the home with gunlocks.  And that kids handling guns without adult supervision can only lead to injury or death.

GunLockWe are offering FREE gunlocks to the public.

Because ....
The child you save could be your own!
