2011 OJA Proposed Requested Legislation:

SB188 - by Barrington of the Senate and Peterson of the House.
   Directing the Board of Juvenile Affairs to appoint members to the State Council for Interstate Juvenile Supervision. Directs the Council to advice and assist the board and a compact administrator in the development of policy concerning operations and procedures of a compact with the state.
 Senate Committee Assignment:  Referred to Juciciary.*
*Remains in the Senate Judiciary Committee & will carry-over to the 2012 Session.

 

SB247 - by David of the Senate and Peters of the House.
  Regarding placement of a child who has been adjudicated by the court as a delinquent child and committed to the Office of Juvenile Affairs. Allows placement of said child to a state training school or secure facility, including a collocated secure facility or other institution or faciilty maintained, operated or contracted by the state for delinquent children under certain circumstances. Directs OJA to certify secure facilities that are collocated with adult facilities or juvenile detention facilities, and requires the facilities to meet applicable criteria of the federal Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Act for collocation.
