CHAPTER 20.  TITLE INSURANCE

SUBCHAPTER 1.  GENERAL PROVISIONS

365:20-1-1.  Purpose

  The purpose of this chapter is to set forth the requirements for issuance of a title insurance policy.  36 O.S. 1981 §5001 mandates certain requirements of title insurance policies.  Three separate Attorney General's opinions, Attorney General Opinions 78-151, 80-104 and 82-46, have interpreted and reiterated this section.  This chapter will formalize the statute and its interpretations.

365:20-1-2.  Severability

  If any provision of this chapter or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is for any reason held to be invalid, the remainder of the section and the application of such provisions to the persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
