Oklahoma Residents: What you need to know about becoming a licensed insurance agent.
I am a resident of Oklahoma, and I want to become an insurance agent. What do I need to do to become licensed?

1. Go to www.sircon.com/oklahoma.
2. Click on “Apply for a License.”
3. Click on “Individual” next to “Submit Resident Application.”
4. Complete the required fields.
5. Click on “Provisional Producer.”
6. Complete the required fields throughout the application.
7. Pay the fees with your check or credit card.
8. Now you must have an actively licensed sponsoring OK agent complete the “Provisional License Sponsor” form and fax it to 405-522-3642. You will train closely with that sponsor until you’re fully licensed as a “Resident Producer.”
9. When your official paper “Provisional” license is mailed to you*, schedule your required 8 hours of pre-licensing (PE) education with A.D. Banker & Company of OK or Francis Tuttle Technology Center or Stone Insurance Education and successfully complete the course. PE Provider Contact Information.
10. Now you’re ready to submit another application just like you did before, except you will click on “Resident Producer” this time. It’s a good idea to go ahead and do this immediately after you have submitted your “Provisional Producer” application.
11. Check the progress of your application(s) by clicking on “Check the license application status” using the confirmation ID number you were given when your “Provisional Producer” or “Resident Producer” application was accepted electronically.
12. When your “Resident Producer” application is approved, you will be notified to schedule your exam(s) at www.psiexams.com .
In a hurry and want to get a head start before you get that e-mail or letter?
Go to www.psiexams.com and you will be allowed to schedule as soon as your application has been processed by the Oklahoma Insurance Department. You’ll find testing locations and instructions on their web site too.
13. When you pass your exam(s), you will be issued an official paper “Resident Producer” license, and you can go to work as an official Oklahoma insurance agent!

10. When your “Resident Producer” application is approved you will be notified by e-mail and/or letter to schedule your exam(s) at www.psiexams.com.
