New Oklahoma Insurance Licensing Exam
The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) is constantly working to improve our relationship with Oklahoma licensees. In 2011 and 2012 the OID had many legislative and administrative code changes that impacted the insurance industry. As a result, a NEW license exam will be implemented November 1, 2012 for all license types. The following release dates may help you make important decisions concerning your upcoming exam.
Available September 1, 2012
To make the transition to a new license exam as smooth as possible, the OID will offer two versions of exam prep material:
- Study Manuals - Manuals ordered from our web page www.licensing.oid.ok.gov will include (2) State Study Manuals per license type (at no additional charge); Release Date November 1, 2009 (current exam) and Release Date November 1, 2012 (new exam). The Effective Date of the guide is printed on the top right corner of the cover. Refer to the label placed on the cover to insure you study the correct manual.
- Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB) - The CIB handbook is downloaded from psiexams.com and provides detailed information regarding the exam. The version is printed in the lower right corner of the cover. Two versions will be available to download; revised 07/26/2012 (current exam) and revised 11/01/2012 (new exam).
Exam Prior to November 1, 2012
The CURRENT exam is based on the November 1, 2009 State Study Manual , General Study Manual and the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin revised 07/26/2012. Be careful to study the current material for the licensing exam taken prior to November 1st.
Exam on or after November 1, 2012
Effective November 1, 2012 a NEW exam will be implemented. The exam is based on the November 1, 2012 State Study Manual, General Study Manual and the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin revised 11/01/2012. Be careful to study the appropriate material for the licensing exam you intend to take.
