Requirements for ADSAC Facilitator

 
    1. Possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral or healthcare sciences education, psychology, social work or chemical dependency with at least two years verifiable full-time equivalent experience in the substance abuse treatment field. This work experience can be in the areas of clinical, prevention or direct care;
    2.  A valid driver's license or state identification card;
    3. Observe one complete twenty-four hour ADSAC course conducted by a certified facilitator. This observation must be completed and verified to ODMHSAS prior to attending facilitator training;
    4. Attend the new facilitator training and pass the ODMHSAS Certification Examination for ADSAC Facilitator; and
    5. A minimal score to pass the exam shall be eighty percent (80%)
    6. Facilitator certification application packets are provided by ODMHSAS; contact tanderson@odmhsas.org to request a current application. Initially, an online application must be completed. Go to odmhsas.org, quick links, DUI Services and choose the last link Alcohol Drug Substance Abuse Courses. Complete and submit the application and you will be notified by the ADSAC staff of the next step in the process. Completed applications must be received by ODMHSAS twenty days prior to the training event.
    7. YOU MUST BE ASSOCIATED WITH A CURRENT ADSAC COURSE, OR HAVE A 501 C 3 to become a certified course facility.
    8. Conduct one complete twenty-four hour ADSAC under the supervision of a certified ADSAC facilitator (after the training).
    9. The facilitator candidate shall be allowed one year to complete all training requirements. Failure to meet all requirements within one year will result in denial of certification. To be reconsidered, the candidate will be required to re-apply to ODMHSAS.
    10. Certification shall be valid for thirty six months. Failure to timely renew the certification shall result in expiration of certification and forfeiture of the rights and privileges granted by the certification.

Trainings for new ADSAC facilitator candidates are held two times a year: Early to mid March and mid to late September.

Completed applications must be received at least 20 days prior to training date.
