The Oklahoma Systems of Care (SOC) is a coordinated network of community-based services and supports that is organized to meet the challenges of children and youth with serious mental health needs and their families. The goal of the SOC team is to help children receive all the services they need in or near their own community. The team finds and builds upon the strength of individuals, and addresses each person’s cultural and linguistic needs.
The SOC and Oklahoma’s federally recognized Indian Tribes share a common goal of improving the health status of their citizenship. As residents of the state of Oklahoma, tribal citizens are equally entitled to programs and services available to all residents. Given the mutual interests, the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) will honor that relationship and embrace a government-to-government approach to the extent allowed by law, in working with tribal governments.
