BHRS is a designation used to refer to individual practitioners who meet billing requirements for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) to provide behavioral health rehabilitation and other eligible services. The BHRS is not a certification, and only applies to individuals who are working for an agency that has a contract with ODMHSAS or OHCA to provide behavioral health rehabilitation and other BHRS eligible services.
As of July 1, 2010 the provider requirements for a BHRS are as follows:
1) Bachelor degree or above, and ODMHSAS training as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist; or 2) CPRP (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) credential; or 3) Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
Or
Has a letter from ODMHSAS stating was grandfathered in as a BHRS under Fiscal Year 2010 requirements.
