The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services offers special programs and services as a result of grants and other special initiatives. These initiatives help to educate and motivate different entities within the state of Oklahoma to recognize the importance of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services within our communities. The Oklahoma Center for Innovation, Resilience and Recovery (Innovation Center), hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services serves as a clearing house for all transformation state incentive grant (TSIG) activities. The Innovation Center facilitates communication among stakeholder groups, and implements strategies and activities described in the Oklahoma State Comprehensive Mental Health Plan. Transformation Agents staff the Innovation Center and are assigned to projects or program areas on a time limited basis with the goal to help various agencies facilitate infrastructure and policy changes within those agencies to develop consumer driven, recovery focused services. The Integrated Services program hopes to welcome every person seeking help, and to provide integrated services and support, in a manner that demonstrates hospitality, respect, and which offers choices. This welcoming response shall convey a “No Wrong Door”, i.e., every door is a Right Door, philosophy and shall be integrated into and reflected in each agency’s environment, policy, documentation, and literature. Every ODMHSAS operated and contracted program shall provide and/or make available integrated, trauma informed mental health and substance abuse services. The Oklahoma Prevention Resource Center (Resource Center) was started in the early, mid 1980s with only 2 shelves of information. The National Clearinghouse of Alcohol/Drug Information/SAMHSA, formerly RADAR NETWORK (Regional Alcohol/Drug Awareness Resources], encouraged and assisted in this endeavor. Since that time, the Resource Center has grown to carry over 4oo pieces of printed information and over 400 videos for loan.As of September 2009 the Resource Center is an on-line service, which broadens our audience and provides individuals with the ability to view before placing an order, or to download and print documents as needed.
